"Some connections cross light-years. Others cross time. The rarest ones cross both."

When Theo Kairos discovers his missing father's research notebook, filled with observations of a world that shouldn't exist, he's drawn into a mystery that spans two realities.

On Vaelith, where time moves at a different pace and consciousness takes forms humanity has never imagined, Theo must decide how far he'll go to find the man who vanished without a trace.

A story about grief, connection, and the distances we cross to find the people we've lost.

Lucas Reed

By day, Lucas designs freight rail corridors across the American West, managing infrastructure programs that move people and goods across thousands of miles. By night, he writes about consciousness, connection, and what lies beyond the edge of what we know.

He started writing Toward the Shape of Time in May 2025. The questions behind it had been building for years: What if connection didn't require proximity? What if the universe was more alive than we assumed? What if finding someone meant losing everything familiar?

When he's not writing or engineering, Lucas plays guitar, builds things with his hands, and stays up too late reading about astrophysics. He lives in Highland, California with his wife Amber and their two daughters, Margot and Sloane.

Toward the Shape of Time is his debut novel.
